Dr. Guillem Rocasalbas
Scientific profile
Dr. Guillem Rocasalbas is a post-doctoral researcher at KitoZyme (Liège, Belgium). He graduated from Universitat de Girona in Chemistry and obtained his PhD at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in chemical engineering/materials science. Before starting the PhD, he gained experience working in industry and doing different scientific internships at University Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France), Institute of Biological and Environmental Chemistry of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain) and KitoZyme (Liège, Belgium). At GBMI he has been working on the modification and functionalization of biopolymer-based platforms for multifunctional materials for medical applications. Dr. Rocasalbas has participated in two research and industry-driven projects funded by EU. He has also been visitor researcher at the Institute of Environmental Biotechnology (Graz University of Technology, Austria) developing new hydrogels using enzymatic approaches. His scientific contribution in this area is reflected in 5 peer-reviewed publications and 1 book chapter.
