Dr. Aleksandra Ivanova

Scientific profile

Dr Aleksandra Ivanova is graduated in Biotechnological engineering (University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, 2013), and MSc in Molecular Biotechnology (Universitat de Barcelona, 2015). Her PhD (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, 2022) was focused on engineering of safe-by-design antibacterial nanomaterials for biomedical and cosmetically applications as well as functional coatings on medical devices for prevention of bacterial infections. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology Group and her research involves design of novel research concepts and development of nano-enabled strategies for controlling of bacterial contamination, prevention and eradication of resistant biofilms with minimized risk of resistance development.
