Dr. Infante Nury
Scientific profile

Her research has focused on the purification and preservation of water using nature-based solutions, with special interest in natural coagulants. She has also worked on biotechnological applications for biomaterial functionalization, contributing to the development of innovative biofilters that improve water quality while promoting sustainability and efficiency.
She was awarded with a postdoctoral Open Academy fellowship from Banco Santander and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. During this fellowship, her scientific proposal was recognized and awarded “The Best Project Proposal” at the 5th FEMS Summer School for Postdocs 2024 on Climate Change and Microbial Safety of Water
and Food.
Currently, Dr. Infante works in the European project "HORIZON-101058426- SYMSITES-Industrial Urban symbiosis and its social, economic and environmental impact on different European regions”, where she develops bio-based nanocomposites
for adsorption columns in tertiary wastewater treatment, aimed at removing bacteria and viruses. Her ongoing goal is to contribute to innovation and strengthen collaborations at both national and international levels, advancing sustainable solutions for water management.
