Sabina Stolfo (PhD student)

 

Scientific profile

Sabina Stolfo is a doctoral student at the Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology Group (GBMI). She holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Bionanotechnologies, from Politecnico di Torino, and a Bachelor's degree in Medical Systems Engineering from Politecnico di Bari, Italy. Her research focused on the development of biomimetic nanostructured surface coatings for in-vitro cardiac tissue modeling. She has gained valuable international experience through collaborations with Newcastle University and the European H2020 Project ALTERNATIVE.
Her current research focuses on the development of antimicrobial nanostructured materials and nanoparticle systems to prevent biofilm formation on medical devices and reduce the spread of antimicrobial resistance.
