Dr. Leonardo M. Pérez
Scientific profile
Dr. L.M. Pérez obtained his MSc. Biotechnology degree at the National University of Rosario (2002, Argentina). Later, he completed his PhD (2007) at the Institute of Experimental Physiology (IFISE CONICET-UNR) with grants from the National Agency for Science and Technology Promotion (ANPCYT, Argentina) and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET, Argentina). Afterwards, he was awarded with two postdoctoral fellowships, the first one (2008-2009) to be held at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC-BarcelonaTech, Spain) and the second one (2010-2011) at the Rosario Chemistry Institute (IQUIR CONICET-UNR, Argentina). Since 2012 to 2022 he served as an established research career member (CIC) of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), the main government agency for Science and Technology development in Argentina. From 2015 he is Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (UCA), and current director of the Laboratory of Sanitary and Environmental Microbiology at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC-BarcelonaTech, Spain).
